Norfolk Photography Walks - meet || explore || capture
Social photography events for beginners and hobbyists
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR UPCOMING EVENTS
Now in our third year, Norfolk Photography Walks offer opportunities for photography practice in beautiful locations around the Norfolk coast. Our informal, relaxed and fun events are aimed at those new to photography or those looking to brush up on existing skills. Events take place in small groups, we visit various locations on the Norfolk coast and some of the counties finest tourist attractions.
What happens during an event? - Well, after a brief introduction from me, we stroll to various points of interest on our route where you'll be free to wander and capture images in your own creative style. I'll be on hand to offer some pointers, gentle encouragement and practical guidance when/where required. The use of all camera types (smartphone, film, digital, instant etc) is welcomed. With a firm belief that anyone can take a great photo with any type of camera, the main focus during a walk is on composition and visual storytelling, things only get as technical as you'd like them to.
Having lived in Norfolk for twelve years and through regularly photographing the coast over that time (along with walking the entire coast path in 2020), it's nice to be able to share my knowledge of both photography and this beautiful county with others. Whilst everyone is welcome and I hope the events are educational, fun and of value, they have more of a focus on the social side of things and are not intended to be 'in depth/technical' tuition sessions. Group photography events are more about getting people together who have a shared common interest. It's proven that learning new skills, being creative, being outside in nature and around others, all helps with our mental wellbeing. After a few months of being at home, I think this is more important now than ever.
Events are dependent on the weather and if there's a forecast of rain (or any form or weather warning), will be postponed with no less than 24 hours notice. (terms and conditions apply).
Those lucky enough to be under 16 are very welcome but must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Dogs are not permitted unless clearly stated in the event listing.
Events will be COVID safe and any applicable rules regarding social distancing or face masks will be adhered to. If a walk has to be cancelled due to new or extended Coronavirus restrictions, full refunds will be provided.
Events take place across various types of terrain so a level of fitness is required to participate, if you have any concerns before booking, please drop me an email: [email protected]
