Norfolk Photography Walks - 1:1 Sessions

Perfect as a treat for any photography fan or those new to photography, 1:1 photography walks offer the opportunity to practice, learn and develop photography skills while exploring a section of the beautiful Norfolk coast. For the 2021 season, 1:1 walks will be held at a choice of two stunning Norfolk coastal locations - Thornham/Holme or Burnham Overy.

For the Thornham walk we'll meet at the much photographed coal barn and start by exploring the old harbour/smugglers port, taking in the various old wooden moorings and fishing vessels/sailing boats before heading around the coastal path. We'll then wander the paths through the salt marsh and onto the beach/dunes at Holme. On route, we'll stop at various points to admire the view and to practice some photography. You'll be free to shoot in your own creative style, I'll be on hand to advise, answer any questions and to offer gentle encouragement. After reaching Holme, we'll stop for refreshments at the visitors centre/cafe before heading back to our starting point at the old harbour.

For the Burnham Overy walk, we'll meet at Burnham Overy Staithe, explore the moorings, boats and buildings, then head around the coastal path to one of Norfolk's finest beaches.  We'll stop at various places along the path to photograph one of the most beautiful landscapes in North Norfolk. Once at the beach we'll explore the high dunes and take a stroll on the wide sands beneath Norfolk's famous big skies. All the while we'll be looking for textures, falling light and thinking about how a landscape photographer sees the world.

Solo walks are aimed at beginner and hobbyist photographers and focus on visual storytelling, observation, composition and basic camera controls. Any camera type is fine (smartphones included). Walks will be COVID safe and all relevant restrictions adhered to.

Walks take approx. 4-5 hours and are 5-7KM long. Although we'll walk at a fairly relaxed pace, please ensure you are comfortable walking this distance before requesting a booking. If you have any concerns, please do get in touch.

Those lucky enough to be aged 16 and under, must be accompanied by an adult.

In the event of poor weather (rain or yellow/amber/red weather warning) being forecast for the day of the walk or new COVID restrictions being implemented, walks will be postponed and or cancelled. Full refunds will be provided.
